Christopher Kaiser

Christopher Kaiser is General Counsel for Building America, CDE. He also serves as the HITs Deputy General Counsel - Investments and Corporate. In his role, Mr. Kaiser handles a variety of legal matters related to real estate transactions, compliance, corporate governance, and regulatory matters.

Prior to joining the HIT in 2007, Mr. Kaiser was a Branch Chief in the Division of Investment Management at the Securities and Exchange Commission, after having served as a Staff Attorney and Senior Special Counsel from 2001 to 2004. From 1995 to 2001, he worked in the San Francisco and Washington, DC, law offices of Thelen Reid & Priest.

Mr. Kaiser holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago. He also holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. Mr. Kaiser is a member of the Bars of California, Virginia and Washington. DC. Mr. Kaiser also holds the CFA Institute’s Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Washington, DC.
