Joaquim Lacerda
Investment Team, Building America, CDE
Joaquim Lacerda is part of the investment team at Building America CDE. His responsibilities include identifying potential investments, conducting project underwriting and due diligence, evaluating sponsor’s operational readiness, drafting investment committee materials, and managing the closing process. He also reviews project impacts to ensure alignment with Building America's mission and priorities. In addition, Mr. Lacerda supports Building America’s parent company, the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust, with financial due diligence and underwriting for multifamily development projects.
Before joining Building America, Mr. Lacerda gained related experience through serving as an Acquisitions and Asset Management Associate with private equity real estate firm EQT Exeter, where he worked directly under the Managing Director for Latin America, underwriting industrial real estate, healthcare and carbon credit investments across Latin America and the United States. Mr. Lacerda also worked at Itaú BBA, Latin America's largest corporate investment bank, at the bank’s Sales and Trading desk. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Brazil's Fundaçao Getulio Vargas, and a Master of Science degree in Global Real Assets from Georgetown University.
