Lunch Honoring Paseo Verde Workers
Building America, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust, hosted a lunch honoring the Philadelphia union construction workers at Paseo Verde, a $48 million project that Building America is helping to finance, through an allocation of $5 million in New Markets Tax Credits. The 100% union-built project is expected to create over 300 jobs for members of Philadelphia’s building and construction trades unions. “Thanks to jobs like this, guys like me are getting back to work,” said Phil Sentner of UA Local 690. “It's a good thing we're doing here, and hopefully everybody will be working again soon. Thank you, guys.” Sentner is one of many workers featured in a new video about Paseo Verde.
